Abrasive Wheels

Purpose

To provide employees attending this programme with an awareness of the provision and use of work equipment regulations (PUWER) as applicable to off-hand grinders and disc cutters. They will also be able to demonstrate competence in mounting and dressing abrasive wheels.

Course Content:

• Handling and transporting abrasive wheels and discs
• selecting and testing new grinding wheels and discs
• fitting abrasive wheels and discs cutters
• replacement and adjustment of guards and work rests
• dressing of abrasive wheels
• compliance with safety requirements in respect of the regulations
